How do I export or delete my account and data?

You have full control over your data. Here's how to export or delete it:

Exporting your data

Web export

  1. Log in to vitros.app

  2. Go to ProfileSettings

  3. Scroll to Data & Privacy

  4. Click Export Data

  5. Choose your format:

    • CSV - Available on all plans, good for spreadsheets

    • JSON - Available on Plus/Pro, machine-readable format

  6. Click Request Export

  7. You'll receive an email when your export is ready (usually within 1 hour)

  8. Download the file from the link in the email (link expires after 7 days)

Mobile export

  1. Open the Vitros app

  2. Go to ProfileSettings

  3. Tap Export My Data

  4. Choose CSV or JSON (based on your plan)

  5. Tap Request Export

  6. Check your email for the download link

What's included in exports

  • All journal entries with timestamps

  • All activities with parsed data

  • All lists and list items

  • Habit tracking data (Plus/Pro only)

  • Profile information

  • Account settings and preferences

  • Timestamps for all entries

Note: Media files (photos, audio) are referenced by URL but not included in the export file. Download them separately if needed.

Deleting your account

⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Export your data first!

Web deletion

  1. Log in to vitros.app

  2. Go to ProfileSettings

  3. Scroll to Danger Zone

  4. Click Delete Account

  5. Read the warning message

  6. Type your email address to confirm

  7. Click Permanently Delete My Account

  8. You'll receive a confirmation email

  9. Click the link in the email to finalize deletion

Mobile deletion

  1. Open the Vitros app

  2. Go to ProfileSettings

  3. Scroll to the bottom

  4. Tap Delete Account

  5. Read the warning

  6. Tap I Understand, Delete My Account

  7. Enter your email to confirm

  8. Tap Delete Forever

  9. Check your email to finalize

What happens when you delete

Immediately:

  • Your account is deactivated

  • You're logged out of all devices

  • Your data is no longer accessible

Within 30 days:

  • All journal entries are permanently deleted

  • All activities, lists, and habits are deleted

  • Profile information is removed

  • Media files are deleted from our servers

What we keep (legally required):

  • Transaction records (billing history) for 7 years

  • Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics

  • Logs related to security incidents (if applicable)

  • Data we're legally required to retain

Canceling paid subscriptions

Before deleting your account:

  1. Cancel your subscription to avoid future charges

  2. Go to ProfileSettingsSubscription

  3. Click Cancel Subscription

  4. Your access continues until the end of the billing period

  5. Then you can delete your account if desired

Alternatives to deletion

Consider these options instead:

  • Downgrade to Free - Keep your data without paying

  • Pause Subscription - Take a break and return later

  • Archive Entries - Keep account but hide old entries
