In a study of 63 laid-off professionals, those who wrote about their thoughts and feelings on the job loss found work sooner.

Among professionals who had been laid off, those who wrote about their thoughts and feelings on losing their job found new work sooner.

The study

In this study of 63 laid-off professionals, the researchers looked at expressive writing as a way of coping with job loss. People who wrote about their thoughts and feelings about the layoff were reemployed more quickly than those in the comparison group.
