California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information under the CCPA/CPRA.

What does "sharing" mean?

Under California law (CCPA/CPRA), "sharing" includes disclosing personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, even if no money is exchanged.

We will NEVER sell your personal information for money. However, we may share limited information with advertising platforms for remarketing purposes, which may be considered "sharing" under California law.

What we may share

  • Email addresses with advertising platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) for custom audiences
  • Anonymous identifiers like IP addresses and device IDs for analytics

This sharing is used only for remarketing and advertising purposes.

What we NEVER share

  • Health and wellness data
  • Journal entries or personal notes
  • Biometric information
  • Location data
  • Sensitive personal information

Your health journey is private and belongs to you. This data is never shared, regardless of your opt-out choice.

How to opt out

Option 1: Email us

Send an email to hello@vitros.app with the subject line:

Do Not Share My Information

Please include:

  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with your Vitros account
  • Confirmation that you want to opt out of sharing

We will process your request within 15 business days and send you a confirmation email.

Option 2: Account settings

Manage your privacy preferences directly in your Vitros account:

  1. Log in to your Vitros account
  2. Go to Profile and settings → Preferences
  3. Toggle off "Allow sharing for remarketing"
  4. Save your preferences

Changes take effect immediately for future sharing. It may take up to 30 days for existing shared data to be removed from third-party platforms.

Option 3: Global Privacy Control (GPC)

Use the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser. We automatically honor GPC signals.

Browsers and extensions that support GPC:

  • Brave Browser (built-in)
  • Firefox with Privacy Badger extension
  • Chrome/Edge with OptMeowt extension
  • DuckDuckGo Browser (mobile)

What happens after you opt out?

  • We will stop sharing your email address with advertising platforms for remarketing purposes
  • We will remove your email from existing custom audiences on third-party platforms (may take up to 30 days)
  • Your Vitros account and all features will continue to work normally
  • You will not be discriminated against or receive a different level of service
  • You may see fewer personalized ads for Vitros on social media

Additional information

Who can opt out? Any user can opt out, but this right is specifically protected under California law (CCPA/CPRA).

How long does it take? We process opt-out requests within 15 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your request is processed.

Can I opt back in? Yes, you can reverse your decision at any time by emailing hello@vitros.app or updating your account settings.

Is this different from unsubscribing? Yes. Unsubscribing from marketing emails stops promotional messages but doesn't prevent us from sharing your email for custom audiences. Opting out of sharing prevents the sharing itself.
